Visitation can start tomorrow for everyone besides Winx

October 9, 2020

Dear Residents and Families,

Re: Visitation can start tomorrow for everyone besides Winx

We are over the moon to announce you can visit your loved one from tomorrow, following the directives below!  Yes, following our continued work and communication with Dr Wong and the team at Public Health Unit (PHU), today they provided us with clearance for all households including Northerly residents who are returning from Winx now that they have been cleared to have daily visitation from their loved ones!  We have one resident who will remain in Winx with one on one care until they return their second negative test and can be then cleared to relocate back to Northerly too.  They have already returned one negative test and today they were swabbed for their second test, so we hope if that test is negative, tomorrow they too will be cleared and can return to Northerly and have visitation from their loved one.  It truly feels like FriYAY today with this news!

Testing for all residents has been cancelled for Monday following this directive, only our staff who have worked in Winx will require testing.

So without further ado, here are the visitation guidelines which will commence on Saturday 10th October:

  • One visitor, once a day and for no longer than one hour
  • Visiting hours – 10-12pm and 2-4pm daily
  • Visitors are to enter via our main entrance, besides Northerly visitors.
  • Northerly visitors need to access our home via The Crossway South, come through the garden into the main dining area of Northerly, complete their screening and the visit their loved one.  They must exit via the small sitting room at the end of the corridor and back out via The Crossway South.  This is to assist us with flow of people through this household.
  • All visits must be in a resident’s bedroom or outside.
  • We recommend limiting interaction between staff and visitors with visitors practising physical distancing and hand hygiene.
  • All visitors MUST wear a mask at all times, including in your loved one’s bedroom.
  • Please practice social distancing when with your loved one.
  • All visitors will be required to adhere to our screening process, including completing an attestation and being temperature checked by our staff.
  • All visitors must have provided evidence of their current flu vaccine.

On behalf of all the team at Embracia, welcome back!  This is a special day and thank you to everyone who has supported us and to our staff and management team for their constant hard work.  Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Take care and stay safe.

Kind regards,

Sarah MacKenzie
