Dear Residents and Families,
Re: Results from Northerly testing yesterday
We informed you yesterday that Embracia Moonee Valley took it upon ourselves to conduct testing on our remaining Northerly residents to fit within the 72-hour testing cycle, as well as we had some residents with very mild symptoms. We also wanted to test sooner so we know what we are dealing with sooner and to stop a further day being added for all our resident across the home experiencing lockdown. We can report today from the 9 residents living with dementia in the Northerly household, 4 more have tested positive, 4 negative and 1 was an invalid sample and we have retested that resident today. We have now cohorted these 4 residents to our Winx household and we can report that only one of these residents has symptoms, all others remain asymptomatic. All other residents from all other households and our staff were tested today. We hope to receive all other results tomorrow.
From our staff who were deemed to be close contacts and have been in isolation, many have reached their day 11 testing and we can report that 4 have returned a NEGATIVE test result and can return to work on day 15, which is Saturday. We still are awaiting 6 staff who were tested today as their Day 11 and we await their results. Unfortunately, we have to share that one staff has tested positive to COVID-19 and is at home in isolation with very mild symptoms.
We wish we could provide you better news on DHHS, but unfortunately again today they did not attend our daily operations meeting with all the authorities. Our Manager Cameron yesterday wrote and asked if anyone from DHHS would attend as the Commonwealth always send a calendar invite to members DHHS and Team One at the Public Health Unit of DHHS, but they have not attended. Although Commonwealth continue to invite DHHS, after today’s meeting it is now a high priority of the Commonwealth to escalate this matter with DHHS as high priority.
TOTAL: 11 Residents
