Only allowed entry if you have a current vaccination against influenza

April 8, 2020

Dear Residents, Families and Friends

The Deputy Chief Health Officer (Communicable Disease) has released a new Aged Care Facilities Direction in relation to visitors to aged care facilities from midnight 7 April until midnight on 13 April 2020.

The directive states, “A visitor must not enter or remain on the premises of a Facility between midnight on 7 April and midnight on 13 April 2020 if:

  1. during the 14 days immediately preceding the entry, the person arrived in Australia from a place outside Australia; or
  2. during the 14 days immediately preceding the entry, the person had known contact with a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19; or
  3. the person has a temperature higher than 37.5 degrees or symptoms of acute respiratory infection; or
  4. the person does not have an up to date vaccination against influenza, if such a vaccination is available to the person;
  5. or the person is aged under 16 years..”

Therefore, effective immediately, visitors will only be allowed to enter the home if they have a current vaccination against influenza, if such a vaccination is available to you. Please note that we will not admit visitors who choose not to be vaccinated.

All visitors will need to sign a declaration in regard to their vaccination status prior to entry.

Kind regards
