First stage to relaxing visitation restrictions

April 22, 2020

Dear Residents, Families and Friends

We would like to thank you for your cooperation and commitment to playing your part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and for your understanding that, “We are all in this together.” The current reports state that the progress to reducing the spread is positive and with each passing day is becoming even more encouraging.

As a result, we are pleased to be able to announce that we are going to implement the first phase of reducing the restrictions on visitations.

As of 23rd April, each resident may have one visit per day and now with a maximum of 2 people at that time, and for a duration of 45 minutes. We hope this slight change will be a welcomed relief and support.

It is encouraging to witness that these current social distancing and isolation directives have not hindered the wonderful community spirit which we have experienced over the recent weeks. We have shared messages of hope and love on our social media to keep everyone connected. Residents have been able to “celebrate” their birthdays remotely, using either social distancing or online party platforms! Our homes have received generous donations of Easter eggs, care packages, and messages of support and affection. These came from many different, caring members of our community and to you, we say a very big thank you! Your random acts of kindness remind us that although we are isolating, our community will do everything you can so we can stay connected and show your love.

Thank you to all the visitors and staff who have provided evidence of their current flu vaccination. We would like to remind everyone of the directives from the Australian and Victorian Governments that all visitors are to be vaccinated against influenza. You are required to provide your immunisation certificate so you can continue to visit our homes.

Thank you again for your respectful understanding and cooperation in protecting each other during this uneasy time. Your support is making a positive difference to protecting the health of our community.

Kind regards
