Dear Residents and Families
RE: Embracia Reservoir – Staff confirmed cases of COVID-19
We did not provide a letter yesterday as we were awaiting test results which were delayed. However today we received notification that three staff have tested positive.
New resident cases 0
New Staff cases 3
Total New Cases 3
Previous reported resident total 14
Previous reported staff total 4
Total Cases 21
These staff have all worked in the Love household, they remain asymptomatic, and are vaccinated. They are now isolating, and we hope they rest well. All other residents in Harmony, Peace, Happiness, and Joy remain COVID free. Our staff have agency care staff working with them in these households to help support the residents during these times of isolation. Everyone is managing well at this time.
The residents with COVID are generally stable but four do require additional fluids and oxygen. This is a critical time for the residents as the disease progresses. The Public Health doctors are continuing to visit daily and monitor all the residents in Love and in collaboration with our team, we are ensuring they receive the clinical care they need.
We have received more air scrubbers which are used to clean the air. We have placed one in each residents’ room and others in the common areas of Love. These machines remove the virus particles from the air which reduces the viral load and reduces the airborne risk in the environment. We continue to utilise full PPE and staff are having breaks in their designated areas, maintaining our cohorting strategy.
We will continue testing every 48 hours for residents in Love and the staff. The rest of the home will be tested on the 8th October and those results will determine when the next testing is required.
The home remains in lockdown and so we encourage you to make contact via phone or other means to keep in touch. If you would like assistance for digital communication, please contact our Lifestyle team on email@example.com.
We will update you when we receive more test results and if there are any other changes. We understand this is a difficult time, but rest assured our staff are working hard to keep our residents safe and engaged.
We provide exceptional aged care in an intimate community that feels like home.
