We have arrived at the end of our first four days of lockdown and it is encouraging that everyone is staying healthy and we have not had any further signs or symptoms of COVID-19.

As we announced earlier, everyone who was tested this week has returned negative results which is another encouraging outcome. The plan now is that everyone will undergo their second round of testing this Sunday in accordance with the Government infection control protocols. That means that all residents and staff will be tested, including the staff who are currently in isolation (7 staff).

We expect to receive the new test results within 24-48 hours from Sunday and then we will be advised by authorities on the next steps. If all results are negative, we should only have to continue the lockdown for the remainder of the allocated 14-day period. If not, we will be advised of the impact and we will share that with you. We are approaching the next hurdle and things appear to be tracking well.

We have had government provide nurses and advisors onsite all week who have been a tremendous support and provided valuable guidance. We have also increased our own staffing levels to facilitate higher engagement of staff with residents in this challenging time. Our primary focus remains the health, safety, and comfort of our residents and staff. We also encourage you to remain in contact with your loved ones and utilise the systems you have prepared or make use of the devices we have available by contacting our Lifestyle team or unless otherwise directed by management. We will continue to provide information and photos on our website and social media so you may remain informed.
