Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

Re: Embracia Moonee Valley – Updates round 7 of resident testing

We are pleased to report that we have all resident results back from yesterday and all results are NEGATIVE!  This is a pleasing result as our team have worked incredibly hard to contain the virus, stop the spread and nurse the residents who have tested positive, back to good health.  We have four residents who have recovered and four who are still considered active. We have requested clarification from DHHS to explain when they consider active cases to be resolved. Today our staff had another round of testing and will share results as they come in.

We wish to address the issue of PPE shortages as reported in the media.  We cannot report on how much personal protective equipment (PPE) is being supplied to hospitals or other aged care providers, but we can give you Embracia’s update on this issue.  We have a dedicated Commonwealth Govt case manager and we speak with them 7 days a week.  They are the same person daily, and we have a reliable and trusting relationship. We discuss and report to them on staffing and workforce matters, resident clinical issues, PPE supplies, and they coordinate our residents’ and staff testing.  We can confidently say that Embracia has sufficient PPE supply thanks to the support and our relationship with the Commonwealth Government Health Department.  They have provided us additional PPE supplies for the whole home, and we restock each household daily from our large stockpile. Please be reassured the issue being reported in the media is not an issue being experienced by Embracia.

Today’s Summary:

Residents:

  • 4 active cases in our home.
  • 4 residents have now recovered (including the resident with mixed results)

Staff:

  • 2 active cases who are all stable or asymptomatic
  • 6 recovered and given DHHS clearance.

Contact Cases: 

  • 6 active cases. We do not have confidence of the accuracy of this number as DHHS has stopped reporting these cases to us.

Don’t forget to email lifestylemv@embraciavic.com.au to arrange a phone call, zoom call or a window visit.  All window visits MUST be pre-booked via the email above, as we need to coordinate all visits.  Also, if you post or drop off gifts, they need to be brought through the front door and NOT passed through any gates, fences or into courtyard bedrooms.
