Embracia Moonee Valley – Third round results and Fourth round testing Sunday

July 24, 2020

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

Re: Embracia Moonee Valley – Third round results and Fourth round testing Sunday

We have received the last of the results from Tuesday’s testing today and we are conducting the fourth round of testing Sunday.

Summary:

  • Tested: 288 people last Tuesday 21st July
  • Results: 285 completed.  2 invalid tests and 1 lost sample. These will be retested Sunday.

Current:

  • Residents: 7 active cases including 1 person in hospital who is stable.  The six residents at the home are stable, with 3 of these residents now at day 14, three at day 9 and one at day 4.
  • Staff: 7 active cases who are all stable or asymptomatic
  • Associated: 3 active cases. These maybe staff on leave, non-staff or non-resident close contacts, or others linked to Embracia by testing according to DHHS. As our letter stated yesterday if someone utilises our testing service, they get added by DHHS as an Embracia number even if they have been at work in more than 10 days, work elsewhere, or have had no contact with any of the COVID positive staff or residents at Embracia. We received written confirmation from DHHS stated that they do count these extras and there may also be double counting. We will continue to report on our actual cases to provide you context.

The Winx household is only accommodating all active cases which means that from these results, all other households are free of COVID-9 cases.

On Sunday, Sonic will be out again and will conduct our fourth round of testing to confirm the results from Tuesday’s testing. Again, we expect the results to be returned within 72 hours, but it seems that it is taking longer than the previous rounds. We will share the outcomes when they become available to us and continue to explain the counting.

We do not expect to provide an email over the weekend as we have completed our feedback on round three of testing and we will report more on our fourth round from early next week.  Please keep following our Facebook page, Instagram, and our website to keep up to date over the weekend as we will continue to share photos of what is happening inside our home.  We cannot thank you enough for the words of encouragement and support on our social media.  Our staff read it often and it really does inspire them to keep going in these challenging times.

Kind regards,
