Dear Residents and Families,
Re: The new conditions for visits and excursions
We are pleased to be able to announce that today ends our period of Enhanced Surveillance and we now enter the last 14 days until the outbreak can be considered “closed”. This will be the official end to this outbreak which has been a long time coming.
As a result of moving out of enhanced surveillance, we are able to share with you the updated changes to visits. The usual screening, temperature checks and wearing face masks when visiting remains in place. But we have some welcomed changes:
We will continue with the current visiting times of 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm.
As of Saturday 14 November, residents may take outings as long the current Victorian Government restrictions are observed such as social distancing, wearing masks and within the restrictions on gatherings. We also ask that you provide us with information on where residents are intending to go on the outing, who will be with them and their contact information. This will assist in any contact tracing if it is required. We still encourage that everyone practices good hand hygiene and using hand sanitiser. Please note that these conditions are likely to continue to evolve as Victoria progresses too. We will keep you informed as this information becomes available.
We would also like to share with you that staff at Embracia Moonee Valley are participating in the Government initiative of voluntary fortnightly asymptomatic COVID testing. We have had our first round this week and all staff returned negative results. This has been the 25th test for some of our staff, a mighty effort! We thank our team for their hard work throughout the outbreak and again now for their dedication, commitment and willingness to ensure we remain COVID free.
We also thank you for working with us and for your support and patience.
We provide exceptional aged care in an intimate community that feels like home.
