Embracia Moonee Valley – Snap Lockdown

November 5, 2021

Dear Residents and Families,

RE: Embracia Moonee Valley – Snap Lockdown

Regrettably we advise that Embracia Moonee Valley were notified that a visitor who attended our home on 2nd November has since tested positive to COVID-19. They are double vaccinated and wore a face mask during their visit which was only in a resident’s room. We would like to thank them for their responsible and considerate action in notifying us of their condition. We wish them all the very best as they recover.

The new guidelines from DHHS describe that a COVID-19 exposure is where one COVID-19 positive staff member or a COVID-19 positive visitor has exposed the facility during their infectious period. The new process is to lockdown the home, staff in PPE, residents isolate, and everyone needs to be tested for COVID-19. Then if all results are negative, the home can reopen.

We are currently testing everyone with the expectation we will have results tomorrow afternoon. If all tests return a negative result, then we should be cleared to reopen and welcome visitors again. The visitation will be up to five visitors a day per resident and the requirement to complete the screening process before granted entry remains.

We will keep you informed as to the progress of testing.

Kind regards
