Embracia Moonee Valley – Lockdown lifted

December 13, 2021

Dear Residents and Families

RE: Embracia Moonee Valley – Lockdown lifted

We have finally received clearance for lockdown to be lifted in all households except for the residents identified as close contacts of the original case.

We apologise for the longer than expected lockdown, but pathology processing was much longer than was ever expected and DHHS have deliberated to grant clearance. Visitors are permitted, however the residents identified as close contact are unable to receive visitors until we receive the results of today’s tests. We ask that all visitors confirm your eligibility to visit when you complete your screening, thank you.

The following actions can resume:

  • Visitors can now enter the facility in line with current Victorian restrictions for aged care homes.
  • Residents may use the common areas in the facility and are no longer required to isolate in their rooms or households.
  • Residents may also attend off-site appointments.
  • We must monitor for any symptoms experienced by residents and remain vigilant for symptoms of COVID-19.
  • If any residents become symptomatic, isolate unwell residents, undertake prompt COVID-19 testing.
  • If staff are unwell they should not attend work, should isolate immediately, inform management of symptoms, and seek prompt testing.
  • Staff who were quarantined may return to work once cleared from quarantine.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in line with DH guidelines.
  • Cleaning as per normal infection control guidelines for aged care facilities.

We hope to be back to normal tomorrow afternoon if the testing is processed promptly.

Kind regards
