Dear Residents, Families and Friends,
Re: Embracia Moonee Valley – Hopefully, our final round of testing tomorrow.
We were pleased to share on our social media pages on the weekend that our Round 8 testing for staff and residents returned 100% NEGATIVE results, this of course excludes our known positive resident cases, because DHHS have directed us to not re-test these residents.
We have been advised that Round 9 and hopefully our final round of testing is tomorrow for both residents and staff. We have received an indication that if all these results are again NEGATIVE, we should receive notification from DHHS that we can move to Active Surveillance. This would allow some restricted visitation, as well as enable our residents to move freely in their households. Our fingers are crossed for all NEGATIVE results from tomorrow’s testing. We will continue to keep you informed each step of the way as we receive more information.
In our previous correspondence, we explained to you that DHHS had advised us that they would not give formal clearance to any resident who tests positive to COVID-19 in a residential aged care setting. Embracia does not support this view as if our residents lived in the community, we believe many, if not all our residents would have been given clearance from COVID-19. To give some perspective on our residents who have tested positive, here is what day they are since they first tested positive and none have COVID symptoms:
We will continue to update you post tomorrow’s testing and provide you with a better understanding of what Active Surveillance will look like when we receive that information from DHHS.
Don’t forget to email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a phone call, zoom call or a window visit. All window visits MUST be pre-booked via the email above, as we need to coordinate all visits. Please keep following our website, Facebook and Instagram pages for the latest information and pictures from our homes. Keep up the great work as a community as the numbers are falling and we need to continue to stay apart so we can be together again sooner.
Stay safe and take care of each other,
We provide exceptional aged care in an intimate community that feels like home.
