Embracia Moonee Valley – End of Quarantine

October 19, 2021

Dear Residents and Families

RE: Embracia Moonee Valley – End of Quarantine

This afternoon, the Western Public Health Unit have authorised a step-down in the outbreak to enhanced surveillance. This means that:

  • Residents may use the common areas in the home and are no longer required to isolate in their rooms.
  • Visitors can now enter the facility in line with current Victorian restrictions for RACFs.
  • Residents may also attend off-site appointments in accordance with the current guidelines
  • We must monitor daily, for the next 14 days, for any symptoms experienced by residents. Remain vigilant for symptoms of COVID-19.
  • If any residents become symptomatic, we will need to isolate unwell residents, and undertake prompt COVID-19 testing.
  • If staff are unwell, they should not attend work, should isolate immediately, inform the home of symptoms, and seek prompt testing.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in line with DHHS guidelines.
  • Cleaning as per normal infection control guidelines for aged care facilities.
  • Visitors are to wear masks, complete the screening processes, including providing evidence of COVID vaccination.

The current visiting restrictions revert to what was permitted prior to the lockdown which are only essential care visits. That is, for the purpose of providing physical or emotional support to a resident and is limited to two people per day.

We thank you again for your support and patience as we worked through the isolation period. We also would like to acknowledge the hard work from our staff who have been working in full PPE over the last weeks but continued to work hard to provide care to our residents.

It is an exciting week as our worlds start to open, and we still encourage you to remain vigilant and keep safe as we discover what is becoming COVID normal.

Kind regards
