Embracia Moonee Valley clarifying reports of positive cases

July 15, 2020

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

Re: Embracia Moonee Valley clarifying reports of positive cases

We would like to clarify the number of cases at Embracia Moonee Valley. We currently have eight cases who have tested positive to COVID-19, three staff members and five residents. There was an error by the media in today’s reporting on cases. We are not aware of any additional cases and if there are any new cases to report we will keep you informed of the situation. Of the five residents, two of the residents have been transferred to hospital and the others remain at home and are being closely monitored. The staff are managing their symptoms at home and progressing well at this stage.

We have organised for our second round of testing for all residents and staff will commence tomorrow. Again, we expect the results to be returned within 72 hours. We hope that it may be sooner, like last time, but considering the volume of testing being undertaken it may be longer.

We continue to encourage you to remain in contact with family and we remind you to utilise our Lifestyle team to assist with teleconferencing or phone calls. Families of those residents specifically in Winx or Kingston Town are strongly encouraged to email our lifestyle team as we want to work closely with you and assist you and your loved one to remain in contact and feel supported through this challenging time.  Lifestyle team are the key people managing direct communication with residents, so please email them at lifestylem@embraciavic.com.au to book a time to communicate with your loved one.

We will keep you informed of the tomorrow’s testing.

Kind regards and stay safe,

Sarah MacKenzie
