Dear Residents and Families,
RE: Embracia Moonee Valley – A confirmed Staff positive case of COVID-19
We are writing to inform you that very late last night we were informed by one of our staff that they had tested positive to COVID-19. This staff member tested on Monday 4th October and only received their results yesterday and informed us immediately. They last worked at Embracia Moonee Valley in the Manikato Household on Saturday 2nd October. This staff member, like 100% of all our staff, is vaccinated. We also have 97% of our residents who have had their first COVID vaccine and 92% are double vaccinated.
Last night the experienced team at Embracia Moonee Valley placed the whole home into immediate lockdown and began swabbing staff. As it was nighttime, many residents were asleep, so resident and staff testing will continue today. Until we have results and know if we have any other cases, our home at Embracia Moonee Valley will be in total lockdown with all residents in their rooms and no visitation.
We also informed the Public Health Unit last night and expect that we will have some form of government meetings commencing today, but at this stage we do not have any further information to share.
We will continue to keep you informed every step of the way, so please continue to check our website and our social media pages. Please remember at this stage, we have only one confirmed case and testing is underway. We don’t expect to have results until tomorrow late in the day at the earliest with slower testing turnaround times that we have been experiencing.
