Dear Residents and Families,
Re: COVID-19 Lockdown at Embracia Moonee Valley
As we advised you yesterday evening, a staff member who worked in Northerly last weekend, has tested positive to COVID-19. They are unwell but are still managing at home. The staff member notified us as soon as they had been informed of their diagnosis. We sincerely thank them for their vigilance and consideration which enabled us to act swiftly and put the home into lockdown to minimise the potential for the spread of the virus. All residents are being asked to remain in their rooms and staff are now in full PPE again when working in the households. Unfortunately, we are not able to allow visitors, so we encourage you to make use of the alternative modes of visitation.
We completed our contact tracing for staff last night and they are now self-isolating in their homes. Fortunately, no one is showing any symptoms. We can also report that we do not have any residents showing any symptoms either. We will commence the first round of testing tomorrow for all residents and staff, and we expect the results within 48 hours.
We have been asked whether visitors from the weekend should be concerned. The DHHS will contact you if are considered a close contact. We have notified DHHS of all close contacts whom we identified, and they will conduct their investigations too. The DHHS will contact all other close contacts and advise them to self-isolate and be tested.
The COVID-19 Outbreak Squad attended the home this morning to review our processes and to provide support to the team. We have increased staffing levels again to cope with the increased demand of the use of PPE and remain focussed on maintaining engagement with residents.
Please keep following our Facebook page, Instagram, and our website to keep up to date as we progress. We encourage you to email email@example.com to arrange a phone call, zoom call or a window visit. All window visits MUST be pre-booked via the email above so we can coordinate them.
We understand that this is incredibly frustrating on the back of our previous lockdown and the current Stage 4 lockdown is taking its toll on all of us, however we ask that you hang in there and work with us and we will keep you informed every step of the way. We encourage you to support one another and stay safe.
We provide exceptional aged care in an intimate community that feels like home.
